Curriculum Approval Committee (CAC)

The Curriculum Approval Committee shall perform the following functions:

• To approve curricula for the college;
• To approve courses and other academic offerings of the college;
• To maintain through the office of the Academic Dean a record of additions, deletions or modifications of all course/curricular materials;
• Recommend action by the KCTCS Curriculum Committees;
• Review program competencies ensuring program equity and prevention of duplication;
• Work to assure maximum transferability between KCTCS colleges as well as other state institutions; and,
• Work to maintain the integrity of the KCTCS common course inventory.

The Curriculum Approval Committee shall be composed of one representative from each of the divisions, the two senators elected to the KCTCS Council and Curriculum Review Committee, an elected chair and the Dean of Academic Affairs. The Dean of Academic Affairs is a non-voting member of the Curriculum Approval Committee. The Curriculum Approval Committee chair shall be elected from the faculty at the April Faculty meeting.
