Kudos Celebration (the annual faculty promotion ceremony) will be held at 2:30 in the library. All faculty and professional staff are invited to attend the ceremony and stay for refreshments. This year we have eleven faculty who will be promoted. Congratulations!

It is Final Exam Week. Library hours are the same as usual all week long. Summer hours will begin next week, on May 11. Graduation is Friday, May 10 in the Glema Mahr Center at 5:30 and at 7:30. Congrats to the grads!

Due to the recovery from the ice storm, the library will offer Sunday hours for the next two weeks for students to catch up. The hours will be from 1:30 until 4:00 on Sunday, April 19 and Sunday, April 26.

The libraries will be closing at 12:00 today in recognition of Good Friday. The main library will be open as usual on Saturday from 9:00-2:00.

The Loman C. Trover Library Reading Series will take place in the Loman C. Trover Library at 7:00pm. Inspirational author Julia Royston will be the featured speaker. She is an African-American poet & songwriter from Louisville. MCC student Michelle Burnside will also read some of her original work. All are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served following the event.

The library will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair! It will be set up all week long in the Loman C. Trover Library, and next week until Thanksgiving Break. Books make great gifts!

The Fall 2008 Loman C. Trover Library Reading Series will take place in the library, and it will feature two Northern Kentucky University writers: Stephen Leigh and P. Andrew Miller. Both authors focus primarily on fantasy and science fiction writing, and they will be sharing some of their stories with us. Scott Vander Ploeg from MCC will also be reading some of his work. Please join us, at 7:00 in the library. The authors will be available for questions and book signings, and refreshments will be served. As always, it is a free event open to the public, so be sure to check it out.

The Loman C. Trover Reading Series will be held at 7:00 pm in the Loman C. Trover Library, and we will welcome Murray State University poet Ann Neelon, along with MCC English Professor Greg Hagan. Free refreshments will be served and Ms. Neelon will be available to talk and sign books. It should be a very entertaining event so please come and check it out. Free to all.

The Madisonville Pride Alliance will welcome P. Andrew Miller to the library at 7:00. He is a Kentucky author and teacher from Northern Kentucky University who will read some stories and poems, and answer questions about his work. Refreshments will be served, and admission is free.
